Divers Search For Woman Who Disappeared In Saginaw Bay

MCKINLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say they are searching for a 26-year-old woman who jumped off a boat and disappeared into Saginaw Bay.

Huron County sheriff's officials say dispatchers received a 911 call Saturday evening from a man who reported the Imlay City woman jumped off the pleasure fishing boat. The man said he and three others aboard pulled multiple fishing lines and turned around to get her, but she slipped under the surface.

County and U.S. Coast Guard divers suspended their search in about 15 feet of water late Saturday as poor visibility and darkness hampered their efforts. The search continued Sunday without success.

Divers were already on the scene early Monday morning in a continued effort to recover the body.

Police haven't released the woman's name and say alcohol is believed to be a factor.
