Rochester Hills Home Invasion: Woman Wakes To Find Stranger In Her Bedroom

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - A Rochester Hills resident is shaken up but OK after she was attacked by a stranger in her bedroom.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched, just before 1 a.m., to the 600 block of Byron Court near Hamlin and Rochester Road after receiving a call that a woman had awoken to find a man in her house.

The suspect tried to get in bed with her, Sheriff's officials said, but she was able to fight him off.

The suspect — described only as a black male — then fled the home.

A Sheriff's Department K-9 unit was able to track the suspect a ways, but lost the scene several streets away, and the suspect remains at large.

It was not immediately clear if the man had broken into the house or if she'd left a door unlocked. Authorities have been collecting evidence from the scene as an investigation continues.

Anyone with information about this crime should call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office or 911.
