Harbaugh Considering Redshirtting QB Shane Morris

LARRY LAGE, AP Sports Writer

ANN ARBOR (AP) — Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh says redshirting quarterback Shane Morris is a consideration.

Harbaugh acknowledged that possibility on Monday, two days after Morris wasn't the player Harbaugh put in the game to run out the clock by kneeling down.

If starter Jake Rudock is hurt, it appears Morris would play because Harbaugh says he is the team's No. 2 QB. But if the graduate transfer from Iowa can stay healthy, Morris may get an extra year of eligibility. Morris, a junior, started in two games and appeared in 10 the previous two years for the Wolverines.

Rudock, though, does not appear to be in danger of losing his job despite turning the ball over five times in two games going into Saturday's matchup at home against UNLV.
