Tips Sought To Find Trio Of Runaway Michigan Kids

IONIA (WWJ) - State and local authorities are asking for the public's help to find three missing kids from Ionia.

Michigan State Police say 15-year-old Daisy Reitz, her 11-year-old sister Lindsey and 15-year-old Taven Daly are believed to be together.

"They ran away just over 24 hours ago from their homes in south Ionia," MSP Sgt. Scott Ziesman said, Tuesday morning. "And we're looking for the public — basically, through social media — to help locate them."

Daisy Reitz is 5 feet, 6 inches tall with blonde hair and blue eyes and Lindsey is 5 feet tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. There is no description available for Taven, but by a photo released by police it appears that he has red hair.

Ziesman said there is no reason to believe that the kids were abducted. All three, he said, left their homes of their own free will

As far as where the kids might be, Ziesman said they don't know much at this time. However, he said, investigators hope photos posted to the Ionia Public Safety Department's Facebook page will help.

"It's gotten a lot of shares so far, so we know a lot of people are looking at it — but so far we haven't gotten any tips," Ziesman told WWJ's Beth Fisher. "Any we get we're certainly going to try to run down."

"We're hoping the kids haven't gone too far yet," he added. " We don't think that they have...Yesterday afternoon, one of them posted something on Facebook; so we know that they've at least got some Wi-Fi access or something."

Anyone with information on these kids should call Ionia County Central Dispatch at 616-527-0400 or send a message to Ionia police on Facebook.
