DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are investigating after a reported sexual assault and carjacking on Detroit’s east side.

Reports state a woman was attacked by a man with a butcher knife and sexually assaulted in her car before it was stolen reports WWJ’s Ron Dewey.

The assault occurred in the area of Medbury and Seminole – the suspect last seen leaving the area in the victims 2002 red Chevy Malibu.

There is no description of the suspect other than wearing a dark coat and camouflage pants.

Authorities say the victim and suspect initially met on an internet dating site.
