Detectives were investigating a number of prior incidents involving three suspects who were robbing people they met through the online classified website Craigslist. Police say the suspects would advertise a vehicle for sale, only to rob the potential buyer.

When investigators discovered that the same suspects were apparently offering a vehicle for sale on Monday, detectives made contact by phone and arranged a meeting at a location in Roseville for 11:30 p.m.

The third drove off in a vehicle the suspects arrived in, but was taken into custody a short time later. A handgun was also recovered during the incident.

Police believe the suspects have carried out similar robberies in Roseville and Eastpointe.
