DETROIT (WWJ) – Authorities are hoping the public can help identify a man who was caught on camera during a home invasion on Detroit’s west side.

The break-in happened on Thursday, March 24, between 2:40 and 3:15 p.m., at a home in the 18700 block of Faust, in a neighborhood along 7 Mile Road just west of the Southfield Freeway.

Police say the suspect forced open a side window to gain entry into the home. Once inside, the suspect took a TV and two DVD players, then left the property, according to police.

No one was home at the time of the incident, which was recorded on the home’s security system.

The suspect is described as a black male with a slim build and an afro. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt at the time of the crime.
