Today Is Free Prix Day At The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's a chance to check out one of the hottest events in Detroit this summer -- for FREE.

On Friday, June 3, race fans will get the opportunity to witness all the action at the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix free of charge on Free Prix Day, presented by Comerica Bank.

The day will feature on-track competition from the three series competing at the Grand Prix. The Verizon IndyCar Series will have practice and qualifying on-track for the first Chevrolet Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will also have both practice and qualifying for the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers. And the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road presented by Traxxas trucks will compete in the first race of the weekend.

Fans will also be able to visit the Paddock and garage areas at the Raceway, known as "the locker room of motorsports,"

In addition to the racing, fans will be able to experience all the activities away from the track as well. The MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage will host live entertainment and the Meijer Fan Zone will feature interactive displays and extreme sports demonstrations.
