'Very Dangerous Predator' Arrested In Connection With Series Of Home Invasions, Rapes Across Metro Detroit

DEARBORN (WWJ) - Authorities say a serial rapist who's been terrorizing multiple metro Detroit communities for years is behind bars.

Michigan State Police and the FBI, along with Dearborn and Livonia police, have arrested a man believed to be responsible for numerous home invasion and sexual assaults throughout the Detroit area.

These attacks date back to 2011, according to Dearborn police, and involve at least eight jurisdictions.

Investigators say, while an arrest has been made, this is still an ongoing investigation as the police are still actively pursuing leads that may link this suspect to other similar crimes in additional communities.

The suspect's name had not yet been released. Charges are pending.

"The arrest of this suspect will hopefully provide closure to our victims and it is important to note that all members of this task force have expended an enormous amount of resources and energy into this investigation," Dearborn police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement. "This collaborative effort along with citizen cooperation has resulted in a very dangerous predator being taken off the streets."

Police were expected to release more information at a news conference Friday.
