Man Arraigned In Fatal Shooting Of Wife During 911 Call [Audio]

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - A 44-year-old suburban Detroit man has been arraigned in the death of his 38-year-old wife who was on a call with 911 when she was fatally shot.

The Macomb County sheriff's office says Hal Byrom's arraignment Thursday on first-degree murder and weapons charges was at a hospital where he is being treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Ebony Byrom was slain Oct. 1 in the couple's Macomb Township home, north of Detroit.

She can be heard on the phone telling a 911 operator the location of the guns in the house.

She can be heard telling a 911 dispatcher that the couple had been in a dispute and that her husband was retrieving his belongings, but it was late and she wanted him gone.

She later was shot several times.

Hal Byrom was denied bond. His next court date is Nov. 3.
