Detroit Public Schools To Hold Back-To-School Expo

DETROIT (CBS DETROIT/AP) — A back-to-school expo is scheduled for Detroit Public Schools Community District students and their families.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Randolph Career Technical Center.

Enrollment for the upcoming academic year will be held. Information on district schools and programs also will be available, as will free health screenings, immunizations and student dental checkups.

Students can participate in a spelling bee and join a chess tournament at the expo.

Transportation to and from the expo will be available at Benjamin Carson, Central Academy, Western International and East English Preparatory Academy high schools.
