Some local favorites include the Detroit Dwarf and IPA. Detroit Beer Company is located right in the middle of downtown, providing a wonderful view of the opera house and easy access to the People Mover.

Located in Midtown, Motor City Brewing Works is another excellent destination in Detroit for a night of drinking and trying micro-brew beers. If you’re looking for seasonal beer with a bit of the tangy and sweet taste as opposed to the traditional bitter or overly hoppy taste, then Black Lotus Brewing Company in downtown Clawson is your spot. A popular choice among the regulars is the Apricot Wheat brew. However, if looking for a heavier autumn taste, there are other selections that provide a serious hoppy bite. Black Lotus also offers an interesting menu selection including sweet potato fries and something it describes as “banana bread in a glass.”
