Lions' Lewand Gets Probation In Plea Deal

Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge after being arrested for allegedly driving drunk last month in northern Michigan. Lewand was placed on probation for six months and fined $532 after pleading guilty to a charge of operating while visibly impaired.

He also will be placed in an outpatiend recovery program and is not allowed to drink alcohol while he's on probation.

The 40-year-old  Lewand told the judge  that he had several vodka drinks before he was arrested  after attending a charity golf event in Houghton Lake. 

After his arrest, Lewand apologized  saying he's a person in active recovery and committed to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.
