Music, Culture And More This Weekend

You'll find all kinds of hot summer events this weekend in Metro Detroit. North America's largest Arab-Chaldean-American cultural event -- The Arab and Chaldean Festival kicks off Saturday at Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit.

Billed as "the largest Arab and Caldean festival in North America," the event features a variety of Arab and Chaldean food, cultural exhibits, a fashion show and plenty of live entertainment, through Sunday.  More info here.

Farther south in Trenton, the rivers will be roaring. It's the 60th Annual PNC Roar on the River -- taking place at the Trenton Rotary Club.

The event features APBA/UIM Power Boat World Championships along with free live music, entertainment, fireworks, food and drinks, and a classic car show. More info here.

On the east side, the Metro Jazz Festival is taking place on the Macomb Community College South Campus. This free musical extravaganza consisting of world class national recording artists each night as well as the hottest regional and local acts performing throughout the day. More info here.

In an attempt to find homes for hundreds of homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens, the 9th annual "Pet-A-Palooza" will take place on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday,  11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Palace of Auburn Hills.  It's one of the largest animal adoption events in the nation! The Ann Arbor Art Fairs, which closed early Friday because of severe weather, is up and running on its final day Saturday. The fairs stay open until 6 p.m. More info here.
