GM To Invest $20M In Bay City Factory
General Motors has announced it will spend $20 million to prepare its Bay City Powertrain for building camshafts that will go into a new engine.
The company said Wednesday's announcement brings to $62.5 million the amount of new investment at the plant this year. The camshafts are for GM's next generation Ecotec engine, which is its highest volume four-cylinder engine program.
Bay City Mayor Charles Brunner says GM's spending at the factory shows what ``a bright future'' the automotive industry has.
