Fundraiser For Family Of Slain Taylor Policeman

A fundraiser is being held today to help the family of Taylor Police Officer Matthew Edwards, who was killed in the line of duty.

Edwards was fatally shot late on July 23 when he responded to a call about a possible break-in at an apartment complex. He was married with two children.

Derrick Gomez, owner of Pure NV Salon and Day Spa is sponsoring the fundraiser. He says salon staff will be providing hair cuts and nail services to patrons. Numerous items, including electronics, dinner and movie tickets, will be auctioned off, with all proceeds donated to Edwards' family.

The salon is located on Telegraph Road between Goddard and Wick.
