The Reverend Jesse Jackson is teaming with United Auto Workers president Bob King this morning on a bus tour, aimed at rebuilding the American Dream and improving the lives of working Americans.

King told Joe Donovan and Pat Vitale in a live interview on WWJ Newsradio 950 this morning: “We want Americans back to work and we think the government’s gotta play a major role in that. We think we’ve gotta rebuild the infrastructure, put people to work, get the money in the economy, give people the ability to take care of themselves and their families.”

The bus tour, which began August 21, stops in several Michigan cities including: Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Flint, Pontiac, Saginaw, Jackson, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Lansing, Inkster, Mt. Clemens, Port Huron and Grand Rapids. The tour will culminate with a march in Detroit on August 28.

These guys got the wrong message. Instead of demanding the government create jobs their message should be the people can create jobs by buying American made products, as in D-3 American cars. If all Americans would focus on buying D3 cars instead of imported cars all our problems would be solved. We would: end unemployment, balance budget, fund Soc Sec, finance schools & city government, stabilize housing prices, save pensions.
BTW, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota & Kia did nothing to lift black Americans out of poverty into the middle class. The UAW, Ford, GM & Chrysler did that with jobs.
Jackson can start by telling his people to get out of Wal-Mart, buy Whirlpool instead of LG. Read the label where stuff is made before you buy. Pay a little more for American stuff.
