Three men are in custody after allegedly robbing a jewelry store in Madison Heights and then leading police on a chase all the way to Detroit.

Police say the three men robbed Jared’s on W. 14 Mile Road at gunpoint and stole a slew of diamonds. Officers say they then chased the three in their SUV down SB 75, where they got off at 7 Mile Road in Detroit.

The three allegedly jumped out of their moving SUV and fled on foot down an alley. Two of the men were found in an abandoned house in the area, and the third was tracked a short time later thanks to a state police K-9.

Police recovered the stolen diamonds as well as three hand guns.

Officials say the SUV, which crashed into a fence, was a stolen vehicle.

The three suspects are being held in Madison Heights Jail awaiting charges.

No one was injured.
