The all-clear has been given for a pair of buildings at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township following an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease.

Following an extensive scrub-down, about 180 employees will return to work in those buildings September 13th. At one point, as many as 40 people working in  the buildings fell ill with the flu-like symptoms, including one employee who was in critical condition at a local hospital but has since recovered.

There have been no further cases of Legionnaires’ since early August.
