Meet The GLITR Award Winners

Join WWJ Newsradio 950 in celebrating some of Metro Detroit's most innovative business leaders. Meet the winners of the 2010 GLITR awards at our first Last Thursdays Unwired event of the fall 2010 season.

The Great Lakes Innovation and Technology Report has begun presenting annual awards to Michigan-based companies and an individual for outstanding performance in rebuilding the state's economy. Awards are being presented in four categories:

* Reinvented company of the year — the company that has done much to re-create itself to serve growing markets and industries.

* Breakaway company of the year — the company that is using technology to surge ahead of the competition.

* Green company of the year — the company that is doing the most to differentiate itself through the use of renewable and sustainable operations.

* The Michigan Champion of the Year — an award to an individual who has done the most to boost Michigan's profile and economy.

The award winners, selected by a panel of expert judges, were announced at WWJ's daylong business program, "I3M: Igniting Innovation In Michigan," on Wednesday.

Pre-registration is not required and admission is free.

The event takes place at:

Lawrence Tech University
UTLC Gallery

21000 W. 10 Mile Road
Southfield, MI  48075

Registration: 7:15 a.m.
Program: 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
