Jackson Company Offers Electronic Health Record Software

Jackson-based Anesthesia Business Consultants LLC announced the first public demonstration of ePreop software will take place at the American Society of Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting in San Diego, to be held Oct. 16-20.

Attendees are invited to see live product demonstrations and talk with the creators. EPreop is providing its patient check-in services at no charge for a limited time. ABC clients and ASA registrants will have first priority.

EPreop's Web-based platform was designed specifically to bridge the gap between the physician office and surgery location. It integrates with various electronic health records like Google Health, Allscripts, and HealthVault.

The software analyzes hundreds of thousands of data points and delivers preoperative clinical guidelines. These recommendations can significantly improve postoperative outcomes, decrease case delays and cancellations, and save money by reducing wasteful spending.

EPreop also allows for a seamless transfer of patient data between parties and eliminates duplicate patient interviews. When an existing EHR is not in use, ePreop provides a stand-alone preoperative electronic health record system that is accessible from a kiosk, iPad, or home computer. The data is sent directly to the surgical facility along with preoperative testing recommendations and personalized evidence-based patient instructions.

EPreop's CEO and co-founder, David Bergman, DO, is a practicing anesthesiologist.

"Our mission is to enable patients and physicians to achieve the highest quality preoperative care and to improve surgical outcomes," he said. "We are excited to have a partner like ABC that services over 8,000 providers and has an incredible reputation in the anesthesia community. Partnering with ABC provides us with an opportunity to make a strong and positive impact on preoperative medicine," says Dr. Bergman.

"One important positive externality of the clinical and cost saving benefits, is the invaluable opportunity to secure our clients' standing with, and add value to, their institution," says Tony Mira, President and CEO of ABC. "We are relentlessly searching to discover these opportunities for our clients, and we are excited to announce our partnership with ePreop."

ABC, established in 1979, is one of the largest billing and practice management companies dedicated to the complex and intricate specialty of anesthesia and pain management. Its accomplished in-house technology staff has created and maintains the ABC proprietary practice management software, F1rstAnesthesia.

ABC also provides the Quantum Clinical Navigation Systems, an anesthesia specific quality management tool; F1rstAnesthesiaRecord, an electronic pen that creates electronic medical records utilizing existing forms; and the recently introduced mobile web app F1rstAccess, which allows clients to view reports on the go.
