Monday is Willie Horton Day in Michigan. It’s also his birthday.
On his special day, Horton plans to return to his alma mater, Northwestern High School, to speak to 11th and 12th graders about the importance of education and following their dreams.
Horton played major league baseball for 18 years, including 14 in Detroit, and he played a key role in the Tigers 1968 World Series championship. He currently works for the Tigers as a special assistant to team president, CEO and general manager Dave Dombrowski.
