Johan Franzen skated today and said he’ll likely be ready to play in the Detroit Red Wings’ next game, which isn’t until Thursday against Calgary. Fellow forward Justin Abdelkader also is almost certain to be back. Their injury updates, however, were the most optimistic of the day.
Kris Draper was downcast as he relayed that he’ll head to Philadelphia to see Dr. William Meyers, a sports hernia specialist.
“I’ve got to go see what’s going on,” Draper said. “He’s the one who operated on my right side after we lost to Anaheim in 2007. I’m going to head there in the next couple of days.
