New HIPAA Tools From Belleville Firm

Belleville-based ATMP Solutions Wednesday announced new compliance management services to help large health systems and physician practices assess their security risks and manage compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) Act.

ATMP Solutions says its proven model guides physicians, medical clinics and health systems in meeting HIPAA standards and implementing effective management practices. In addition, a partnership with eGestalt enables clients to implement an automated compliance management solution called "SecureGRC."

"We help healthcare providers manage HIPAA Security Compliance in an ever-changing landscape. Our solutions reduce costs and time," said Joe Dylewski, principal of ATMP Solutions, a certified HIPAA compliance organization.

The HIPAA Security Compliance Assessment is an accurate and thorough analysis of an organization's current compliance status. This includes a deep examination of electronic medical record management and software. ATMP Solutions conducts a Gap Analysis and assists in developing a remediation plan that leads to compliance.

Technology provides another ingredient in the continuous process of compliance and monitoring. "SecureGRC" provides a consolidated framework that quickly and cost-effectively enables governance, risk management and compliance.

The HITECH Act, adopted in 2009, builds on the privacy and security rules and criteria to further address risks. With the passage of the HITECH, additional emphasis was placed on the responsibility of healthcare entities that utilize Electronic Protected Health Information to insure that the data is held safe and secure.

Refined regulations were specified in the Federal HITECH Act, including increased fines, enforcement and media exposure for breaches of patient and business information.

"Assessment and technology solutions help healthcare providers comply with meaningful use requirements and address one of the critical components that qualifies them for HITECH Act reimbursement funds. We recommend they partner with, knowledgeable, qualified and certified HIPAA specialists for best results," said Dylewski.

Applied Technology Methods and Practices president Dylewski, a certified HIPAA security specialist, has been involved in IT management for more than 25 years. More at  www.atmpgroup.com.
