2nd Man Charged In '09 Bus Stop Shooting

A 20-year-old Detroit man has been charged with assault with intent to murder and felonious assault in the shootings of seven teenagers at a city bus stop.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Demetrius Hinton is expected to be arraigned Thursday. A message was left for his lawyer seeking comment Wednesday.

This summer, police named Hinton as a "person of interest'' in the June 30, 2009, attack near Cody Ninth Grade Academy. Surveillance footage from a gas station showed two men shooting at a group of people at the bus stop.

Five of those wounded were students at the academy.

Jeffrey Brooks was charged in July in the Cody shooting.

Hinton was jailed this summer in an Aug. 11, 2009 robbery that left one man dead and another wounded.
