Howell Girl Escapes Would-be Kidnapper

A 12-year-old girl walking to a bus stop in Howell, narrowly escaped being kidnapped Tuesday morning.

The victim told police a man grabbed her from behind as she walked along Grand River Avenue and told her not to run or scream. The girl was able to squirm away and ran to her bus, where she told the driver what had happened.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department at (517) 540-7952.
