National Beef Processor Chooses Plex Online As ERP System: Auburn Hills-based Plex Systems Inc. announced that Jensen Meats has selected Plex Online as its manufacturing enterprise resource planning software system. Based in Southern California, Jensen Meats is a national processor of quality ground beef products for the food service distribution, wholesale/retail and school markets with customers such as Checker’s-Rally’s and Sam’s Club. Jensen Meats began a search earlier this year for an ERP system as a replacement and improvement to three aging and obsolete production systems. “We wanted to have the company on one system,” said the company’s director of finance, Sam Acuña, who had previously experienced the benefits of Plex Online at Aptera, an electric car manufacturer. “I immediately thought of Plex Online because of its software as a service delivery model, user-friendly features, overall functionality, and cost-effectiveness. I felt there was no other choice for Jensen Meats.”
The system will be implemented in two phases. Phase One is targeted to launch by January 2011, and will include accounting, inventory, purchasing, sales, shipping, and security functions. Phase Two will include engineering, maintenance, quality, scheduling, HR, and more; it will launch early in third quarter 2011. Plex Systems is the developer of Plex Online, a software-as-a-service ERP system for manufacturing. Plex Online offers industry-leading features for virtually every department within a manufacturer, including manufacturing execution systems and quality management systems for the shop floor, supply chain management for procurement, and enterprise resource planning for finance and management. Plex Online’s comprehensive functional coverage delivers a “shop floor to top floor” view of a manufacturer’s operations, enabling management to run its business at maximum efficiency. More at
