Teen Dies In Monroe County Crash

Authorities say a pickup truck struck a car on a southeastern Michigan road near the Ohio border, killing one teenage girl and critically injuring another.

Monroe County sheriff’s officials say 17-year-old Megan Miller of Temperance died at the scene of the Friday morning crash in Bedford Township. Sixteen-year-old Laurel Mavis of Petersburg was taken to a hospital in nearby Toledo, Ohio, where a hospital spokeswoman says the teen was listed in critical condition Friday evening.

Police say the 45-year-old man driving the pickup truck that hit the car carrying the teens was treated for injuries at the site of the crash.
