Alice Cooper To Join Rock Hall Of Fame

Rocker Alice Cooper has finally been nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Cooper - whose real name is Vincent Damon Furnier - was born in Detroit, but spent most of his childhood in Arizona before coming back in the 1970's. The 62-year-old will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in March along with Neil Diamond, Tom Watts, Darlene Love and Dr. John.

Cooper was the first of the "visual" musicians, using special effects during concerts and paving the way for groups like Kiss and Rob Zombie.

The singer is just one of a crowd of performers in the Hall with Detroit roots.
