Detroit’s Ex-Mayor Writing Book While In Prison

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick wants to become Author Kwame Kilpatrick.

The Motor City’s disgraced leader is working with a writer on a book will allow the imprisoned ex-Detroit Mayor to tell his side of the story of his life.

The book will be titled “Surrendered: The Rise, Fall and Revelation of Kwame Kilpatrick,” and plans call for its publication when Kilpatrick is released from prison.  And it could also become a movie.

Kilpatrick is in prison for violating the terms of his probation on obstruction of justice and assault convictions. The federal government brought fraud and tax charges against Kilpatrick in June. Kilpatrick, his father Bernard Kilpatrick and three others were indicted last week on federal corruption charges.

He might as well, because with any luck he’s going to be in there for a loooooong time !!!
Maybe his second book could be titled “Pay and Play in the Shower”
Oh yeah, let’s make sure any monies realized from the sale of books or movie rights go back to the City of Detroit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only person he needs to offer an explanation to is the Good Lord – that might best be saved for the final Chapter. The rest of us could care less!

By “when Kilpatrick is released from prison”, do you mean his current sentence or the one he’s going to get from the latest federal racketeering charges? If it’s the latter, he’s going to have a long time to write the book!
