Truck Smashes Into Birmingham Bank

Birmingham police are investigating an accident involving a truck that smashed into the Bank of Birmingham Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. along Woodward Avenue, north of 14 Mile Road.  Initial reports indicate the driver may have been cut-off by another vehicle and swerved into the bank.

Police say the driver had minor injuries, but was taken to Troy Beaumont Hospital.

The bank suffered some damage, but was open later Thursday morning.  A person answering the phone at the bank wouldn’t comment.
