High School Student Killed In Accident
Slick roads may be to blame for an accident that claimed the life of a Richmond High School student.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Department says 16-year old Leah Owens died after she lost control of her car on North Avenue Tuesday night, crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit by a truck.
Sheriff investigators say roads were slippery with light snow and mist reported at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Dodge Ram truck was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Students at Richmond High were being told about the death Wednesday morning.
