Big Improvements Coming To Crisler Arena

(Ann Arbor-WWJ) The University of Michgan Board of Regents has approved the second phase of a 52 million dollar renovation of Crisler Arena.

The expansion of the home of the Michigan men's and women's basketball teams will add approximately 63 thousand square feet for new fan entrances, additional retail and ticketing areas and a private club.

Athletic director Dave Brandon says the improvements will make the 43 year-old arena "a first-class, modern venue that will be among the best in the country."  He says the goal is to "create a home court advantage for our teams while making the fan experience memorable from the moment they walk into the arena."

Regents also approved 20 million dollars in internal university funds for high-definitation video scoreboards at Crisler, Michigan Stadium and Yost Ice Arena.
