ROSEVILLE (WWJ) What started as a domestic dispute in Roseville has ended in a shoot-out with police, and one man dead.
It started around 5:30 this evening near Utica Road and 12 Mile. As police attempted to resolve the dispute, a disgruntled 42-year-old man began shooting at officers. But the situation turned deadly for the man when a neighbor arrived and he pointed his shotgun toward the neighbor.
Roseville Deputy Police Chief James Berlin describes what happened next.
“Officers restrained fire at that time, but shortly after that the man’s neighbor came home and the man pointed the gun at his neighbor and officer’s were forced to return the man’s gunfire. He was struck and subsequently died of his wounds,” Berlin said.
The matter is under investigation and when complete the incident will be reviewed by the Macomb County Prosecutors Office.
