Red Cross Makes Urgent Plea For Blood
DETROIT (WWJ) The cold wave that has swept across the county has lead the American Red Cross to send out a plea state and county-wide for all types of blood.
The organization had previously sent a press release about the American Red Cross's critical need for type O-negative blood. Now that need has been expanded to a national appeal for all Blood types.
The weather has had an adverse impact on blood collections across a wide swath of the country.
This is the first time since 2004 that the Red Cross has issued a national appeal for blood.
