Matt Dery’s Daily Update 1-26-11

Korie Lucious will transfer from Michigan State University. The junior guard has been suspended by Tom Izzo for the rest of the season for conduct detrimental to the team. He himself tweeted last night that he knows he messed up again but would not say what he did. Lucious’ mother released a statement saying that her son is transferring after this semester and Izzo will help him find a new school for next year.

The Pistons bring in Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups and the Denver Nuggets tonight. Denver on the second leg of a back to back and they have lost 14 straight at the Palace to the Pistons who have won 5 of 7.

The Red Wings Entertain the Devils at the Joe tonight with Jimmy Howard in net for Mike Babcock’s team. Detroit did get Tomas Holmstrom on the ice for a little bit today; he hopes to return from a broken hand February 2nd.

Not good news for NBA fans, players association head Billy Hunter reportedly in a meeting with Sacramento Kings players recently, telling them that is a new agreement is not in place by June 30th he believes a lockout would last all of next season.
