Former High School Coach To Get More Prison Time For Sex Assault

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A former high school hockey coach is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday to more prison time for sexually assaulting his students.

54-year-old Robert Bopp pleaded guilty in early January to criminal sexual conduct with an underage teenager. He's expected to get a 17 and a half to 30 year prison term when he's sentenced in Wayne County Circuit Court on Thursday. Last May, Bopp was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for videotaping teenagers having sex at his Taylor home. Bopp's punishment will be served at the same time as his federal sentence for child porn. The federal investigation was related to the state charges.

Bopp was fired as a hockey coach from Grosse Pointe South High School shortly after the allegations surfaced nearly two years ago.
