Lawsuit Revived:Detroit May Owe Contractor
DETROIT (WWJ) The city of Detroit may owe money to a former contractor who claims he was extorted by the directors of the downtown convention center.
The Michigan Court of Appeals has revived a lawsuit filed by Metro Services Organization, a company owned by Karl Kado, who says he is still owed more than one million dollars for work his firm did at Cobo Center.
A lower court dismissed Kado's lawsuit, saying city hall corruption rendered the contract null and void.
But the appellate court reversed, saying there is no evidence Kado failed to fulfill his end of the contract.
