GARDEN CITY (WWJ) – The cold weather and recent blizzard may be to blame for the death of a man believed to be in his 60’s.

The man’s body was found face down behind a store on Ford Road near Merriman Road in Garden City Thursday  morning.  It was spotted by a passerby at about 8 a.m.

It’s believed he had been walking in the alley when he collapsed.

Garden City Police say the man was not dressed appropriately for the cold weather — wearing only a light jacket.

The man’s name has not been released, pending notification of his family. An autopsy is planned to determine a definitive cause of death.
