Kristin Chenoweth Movie Filming At Fraser High School

FRASER (WWJ) - It's lights, camera, action at a local high school.

About 300 extras, including about 50-to-75 of the Rambler student body, will be part of filming Wednesday at Fraser High School's gym for the upcoming movie, "Family Weekend."

With hundreds of schools and gyms in the region, why Fraser? Superintendent Dave Richards believes the district's Performing Arts program played a part, already having national attention with the chance to perform at Carnegie Hall a couple of years ago.

"What is surprising is that you have a real Hollywood production taking place right in your gym and they're gonna be using your students, and your facilities and your logos and that's exciting; that's a positive for our community and for our kids," Richards told WWJ Newsradio 950's Ron Dewey.

Richards sees his school and Macomb County with recurring roles in future movie-making ventures.
