Home Depot Hiring

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Home Depot is hiring 1,000 seasonal workers across Metro Detroit this spring.

Spokesman Steve Holmes says it's part of a 60,000 nationwide hiring spree.

"It's all for us to gear up for our busiest selling season, which you think of a lot of retailers' busy season being the traditional Christmas holidays. Well, spring is our Christmas and so we're gearing up for our own Spring Black Friday," said Holmes.

"Folks are getting out there doing projects outside the house they've been waiting to do, and their lawns and their gardens, and they're taking care of those things. A lot of painting, a lot of folks buying new power equipment to take care of their lawns. Just all sorts of building projects, you name it. They've been cooped up all winter long and they're ready to get out there in the spring," said Holmes.

The part-time jobs last about 90 to 120 days. Each store will hire about 25 to 30 workers.
