AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) – “Imported from Detroit” isn’t just a catch phrase.  It’s a t-shirt sell- out.  Thanks to the Eminem Superbowl ad, Chrysler’s “Imported from Detroit” t-shirt sales have been through the roof. WWJ’s Kathryn Larson reports on the logo that’s making Chrysler one happy automaker.

Internet and store sales of their “Imported From Detroit” are brisk according to Chrysler Spokesman, Ed Garsten, who says Chrysler will be making the most of the catchy phrase.

“Well, I drink a lot of coffee so I’d always be happy to see a coffee mug, but what I can say without being specific is that there will be a lot of stuff that, and I think there will be things that people can use and people can have fun with the “Imported From Detroit” design on it,” says Garsten. 

The Chrysler Super Bowl ad, which has been viewed by millions of people on YouTube all around the world, has inspired a line of t-shirts.

Chrysler is selling shirts with the “Imported From Detroit”  logo on the front, and the Chrysler logo on the back. The shirts are being sold online for $29.95. Although the online site says it is sold out of the shirts right now, you can follow this link to get to the site.

Garsten says you can expect the new shirts and other items in the next few weeks.
