Suspect Charged In Craigslist Killing

Hazel Park police have arrested a Detroit man in connection with the murder of a man who was killed while attempting to buy a cell phone from someone he connected with on Craigslist.

Hazel Park Police Chief David Niedermeier says they picked-up the suspect, 23-year- old Alexander Lyons, fairly quickly in the murder of 19-year-old Johnathan Clements.

"But one of the ironic things in this case is the same technology that led the killers to the victim also was able to lead the police to the killer and uh, he was taken into custody relatively quickly. Um, this was a quickly unfolding investigation and and we had him in custody within almost a day of the homicide."

Lyons has been charged with homicide, felony murder, and possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony.  He's been arraigned and is being held without bond.

Police say more suspects could be charged.
