Local Photographer Covering The Oscars

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Metro Detroit photojournalist is covering the Oscars Sunday night.  In fact, Linda Solomon has been covering the Oscars for nearly 30 years.

Solomon, recently inducted into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame, works with a lot of children and she's hoping she'll get a picture of Justin Bieber at the Oscars, if he attends.

"When I work with children, they always ask me, "Have you ever photographed Justin Bieber?", so just for the children that I work with I want to say " yes"  and I want to be able to share his photograph," says Solomon.

Solomon, speaking live on WWJ,  says she's not even sure if Bieber will be there.  She says the Oscars are always exciting and the buzz is that "The King's Speech" will be a big winner.

"It is still exciting, especially for me after all these years , it's still a thrill . I mean there, there are only 110 photographers invited from all over the world."
