Destination? Anywhere Without Snow

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - The seemingly never-ending snow covering Michigan roads lately, has more people deciding to get away to warmer, sunnier climates.

Newsradio 950 checked in at Cadillac Travel in Southfield where we came across Brandon Bondy planning his delayed honeymoon.

Brandon and his wife will head for Italy. But, while he says getting away from the cold and snow will be an added bonus, they won't be just sitting around soaking-up the Italian sun.

They're want to see the country and hope the weather there cooperates.

Other travelers, according to a Cadillac Travel official, are heading to places like the safe tourist destinations in Mexico.

Many of these travelers will be faced with higher air fares due to hikes in oil prices, but are still willing to travel spur-of-the-moment to put some distance between themselves and the cold.

For those that can travel last minute; cruise and tour operators are reportedly offering great deals.
