- SAGINAW (WWJ) – The Pentagon says a 25-year-old U.S. Army sergeant from Saginaw has been killed in fighting in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department says Kristopher J. Gould died Sunday.

It says Gould was wounded in Ghazni province when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, based at Fort Knox, Ky.
