Lansing Cop Hailed A Hero

LANSING (AP) – A Lansing police sergeant is being hailed a hero after diving into the icy waters of the Grand River to save the life of a woman who had jumped from a bridge.

Three other officers helped Sergeant Guy Pace pull the woman by rope to the shore.  One of the officers reportedly said if it wasn’t for Pace’s quick thinking the woman would have died.

The woman is recovering at a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sgt. Pace thinks it is no big deal. You see a drowning worman, you jump in. That’s just what you do. But the truth is only heroes are willing to jump in. Yes, Sgt. Pace is a hero.
