Dice.com: Detroit Is Nation's Hottest Tech Job Market

Detroit is the nation's fastest growing tech job market, according to an analysis from the tech job search company Dice.com cited by Infoworld magazine.

According to Dice, Detroit's tech job market popped 101 percent from February 2010 to February 2011.

According to InfoWorld, Dice says that Detroit has more than 800 available tech jobs on any given day and that the average salary of tech pros in Detroit has risen 2 percent since last year to nearly $71,500.

Following Detroit is a trio of Ohio cities: Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus, which boast growth numbers of 75, 62, and 57 percent, respectively.

InfoWorld says Detroit's tech resurgence is also being led by a new Microsoft Technology Center, being cited by Microsoft as one of the nation's 10 most cloud friendly cities, and a New York Times article on Detroit's opportunities for startups -- which mentioned the city's TechTown business incubator and its 150 companies.
