Fatal Shooting At Beauty Supply Store
DEARBORN (WWJ) - Dearborn Police are searching for two suspects following a fatal shooting at a beauty supply shop.
Police said a store employee was killed during an armed robbery at Sunrise Beauty Supply, near Schaefer and Michigan Ave.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad offered few details about the incident, but said an investigation is underway.
"This appears to be a random and senseless crime that will be subjected to all our investigative resources," said Haddad.
Frightened owners of neighboring stores say they didn't hear or see anything unusual, and that, other than the occasional shop-lifting, there have never been any real problems in their mall.
One woman, who has lived in the neighborhood for thirty years, said she knows the owner of the beauty supply store, and was shocked by what happened.
"(I'm) very angry, because I love Dearborn. I spent my life here, grew up here, sent my children to school here -- and now it's so dangerous just to walk down the street," she said.
This is the second armed robbery in Dearborn this week.
