Search Continues For Suspect Who Tortured Dogs

CHELSEA (WWJ) - The search is on to find a suspect who tortured two dogs with a hatchet near Chelsea.

Bella, a 9-month-old Rottweiler mix, and Buddy, a 5-year-old Shepard mix, were neighbors and played almost every day.

Earlier this month, they turned up missing from their homes in Chelsea. Several hours later they were found. Both had suffered horrendous injuries.

Officials at the Humane Society of Huron Valley said it was apparent both animals had been tied up and tortured with a hatchet.

The dogs were both so badly hurt, they had to be euthanized.

Police are telling Chelsea residents to keep an eye on their pets until the case is solved.

Meanwhile, a $1000 reward is being offered for any information about the case. If you have any information, we ask that you please call the Humane Society of Huron Valley anonymous tip line at (734) 661-3551 or the Chelsea Police Department at (734) 475-9122.
